What are NVQ Qualifications?
NVQ stands for National Vocational Qualification and is a recognised standard set by relevant industries and awarding bodies. NVQ qualifications are competence based. This means they are linked to the learners ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work.
Learners plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role.
Assessors conduct regular visits to the learners at their place of work. On average it takes a learner approximately 8-10 months to complete an NVQ programme.
PTR offers a variety of NVQ options including;
Skills for Life - Literacy & Numeracy
We support all learners who wish to improve their literacy and numeracy skills. We conduct an initial assessment and then either work on individual qualifications for each learner or embedding skills for life within an NVQ programme.
You may be eligible for government funding for your programme through Train to Gain.
