PTS | Health and Social Care | Deanwood Lodge Visit

Here at Prospect Training Services (PTS) we take learning very seriously, but it doesn’t mean it can’t be fun! So off the Health and Social care students and tutors went to join the service users at Deanwood Lodge in a morning of exercise, laughter, and of course, obligatory tea and biscuits.

The students took part in the passive exercise class, and the service users learnt about how specific exercises can assist and aid individuals with dementia. It was even noted how one service user’s hand-eye coordination was exceptional as he interacted with one of our students. The day was fun for all involved and yes, even the tutors joined in!

The student’s interactions brought smiles all round. Even the staff noticed how the service users seemed to enjoy the company of a younger generation. This is typical of a course with PTS – no two weeks will be the same, and we value practical experience as much as learning in the classroom.
